Abstract

Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rare odontogenic neoplasm of benign nature. The tumor is epithelial in origin, and its overall incidence is estimated to be below one percent. Though CEOT is usually benign, but its behavior depends on location and histology. It is believed to arise from the reduced enamel of the embedded teeth and exhibits peculiar histological features. The clinical picture and usual course of this condition are similar and overlap with other odontogenic neoplasms like calcifying odontogenic cysts, adenomatoid odontogenic tumor, ameloblastic fibro-odontoma and odontoma. The authors present an interesting case report of Pindborg tumors in a 19-year-old female.
